Stirling Weather Information
🔙 Past Week ☀️
Sunday 07 August to Saturday 13 August
It’s been another week during 2022 when one of our Stirling Weather records was broken this time a new all time maximum temperature for the month of August was set, not once, but twice. Prior to the past week the maximum temperature we had recorded in Stirling during any month of August was 27.0ºC which was set on 25th August 2019. That near three year record was initially broken last Thursday 11th when the temperature topped out at 27.2ºC but just a few days later on Saturday 13th the temperature went 0.1ºC higher as a new all time August record was set at 27.3ºC.
Every day last week saw the temperature climb into the 20’s with the average weekly maximum temperature a warm and unusually for Scotland 25.9ºC.
This is our second month in a row when a new all time monthly maximum temperature has been set after July set a new high of 30.9ºC on 19th July. Both these new monthly records still fall short of our all time maximum temperature recorded in Stirling which is 32.3°C from 28th June 2018.
And with last week experiencing the latest summer 2022 heatwave it will come as no surprise that there was no recorded rainfall in Stirling during our weekly reporting period which is a Sunday to Saturday.

The week will get off to a warm and wet start with heavy showers and possibly thunder and lightning developing during Monday. Cooler from Tuesday with more wet weather with some heavy downpours developing as the risk of thunder and lightning continues.
The best chance of a dry day will be mid-week and probably Wednesday. A few sunny intervals at times later in the week but it will be a mostly cloudy week with the risk of showers continuing. Breeze will pick up as the week progresses with winds possibly gusting to 30mph over the weekend.

❓Did You know:
After a warm and reasonably dry summer we thought we would compare the month of June, July and the first two weeks of August this year compared to 2021.
The average temperature for that period in 2022 has been 16.2ºC while in 2021 it was 16.1ºC but the biggest change this summer so far has been the difference in rainfall with 104mm for that period this year compared to 166mm in 2021. So while our maximum temperatures have been hotter this summer the average temperature is very similar to last year but with over two inches less rainfall this summer the dry conditions help 2022 claim the better summer so far.
